RESEARCHINTERESTS
My research interests mainly encompass two fields, Englishliterature and Translation Studies. To be more specific, my academic thinkingand research are concentrated upon American Southern literature in the firsthalf of the 20thcentury and studies of the English translation ofcontemporary Chinese literary works. The former intrigues me with its localcolor, religious mystery, Gothic style and grotesque characters and the latter,an urgent job Chinese scholars are supposed to do, will help the Chineseliterature reach a more diversified readership and facilitate the growth andtransmission of Chinese culture, thus finally enhance mutual understanding andrespect between Chinese people and other races.
